Red Robin. Ruben had been working there for a bit, and Hannah would come to work shifts at the Bird when she was home from college. As many may know, Hannah would refer to Ruben as her “work boyfriend” before they were together. Even though Hannah would leave work after her college breaks, there was no difficulty resuming their friendship when she returned. 

Fast forward to August of 2016. Ruben (finally) asked Hannah out on a date the day before she left for her senior year at Northern Illinois University. He was late because he was picking out an outfit to attempt to impress her - later he would find out being late was NOT impressive (but we digress). The two went to Bahama Breeze, enjoyed a lovely evening, and then Hannah left for college the next day. This then leads us to….

Spring break of 2017. Hannah and her friends were going to Miami for the week. A mutual friend of Hannah and Ruben’s from Red Robin knew Hannah was going there. He decided to ask Ruben to go with him to all then meet up in Miami. This is where many would say Hannah and Ruben became exclusive. After returning home, Ruben would drive up on the weekend to see Hannah at college any weekend he was available, even if it was just for the night. The two never had an “official” anniversary so they made one up. What started as the two having crushes from afar turned into a lifelong partnership. There have been many baseball games, two dogs, and countless memories shared throughout the years. 

Fast forward again to March of 2023, when Ruben (finally) asked Hannah to marry him. The two were in Mexico, enjoying sunshine and each other’s company. It was the first night they were there, so the couple was able to celebrate their new engagement for the entire trip.

Now, the couple could not be more excited to be back on a beach - this time with their favorite people around. Hannah and Ruben are so excited to be celebrating their love and look forward to spending time with those that can join them!
